Ladies Tights
Don’t you just love tights?
Ladies tights are one fashion item never to have gone out of fashion! We all need them and we all love them. Everyone has a different favourite and a different need for them but they will be forever in our lives, ladies!
Whether you prefer coloured tights, support tights or suspender tights there are literally hundreds of different types of tights out there so it can be a minefield finding the right pair for the right occasion.
A really popular variation in recent years are shaping tights as they do two jobs at once – they hold your bum and tum in so you look great without having to spend hours in the gym and they make your legs look fabulous while keeping them warm – actually that’s three jobs really, so what an amazing invention. They usually come in nude and black so they are perfect for day or evening wear, and a little birdie told me that they have helped many a celebrity to look fabulous on the red carpet so we don’t mind a bit of cheating now and again.
If you’re more of a coloured tights fan this is the season to be showing off those pins as coloured tights are so now. You can get just about every colour under the sun nowadays but some great, funky colours to look out for this season are rich reds and deep purples. coloured tights come in all sorts of different materials but a really current style is wet look tights. They are thick so perfect for the winter season but very flattering and a cheaper alternative to patent skinnies, a celebrity favourite at the moment.
A more classic, favourite material for coloured tights is comfy, cosy wool. You can get ribbed wool, Merino wool, Cashmere mix wool and all sorts of different wool in many different colours. Wool tights are the perfect way to stay warm this winter but look funky in those short skirts and with so many colours you can create totally different outfits for a relatively small cost. So don’t leave the minis in the wardrobe until spring, keep wearing them all year round while keeping warm with wool tights.
Another must have for every woman’s tight drawer are good, old fashioned opaque tights. You can get them in every denier from 40 to 100, in matte or shiny and in just about every colour you can think of. They don’t cost too much and they just keep on staying in fashion, perfect really!
If you feel that tights are slightly unsexy (although very practical!) you can always wear their alternative, hold ups. Hold ups, or stay ups or thigh highs, do nearly the same job as tights but with a bit more breathability. And they definitely feel sexier too. Just like ladies tights there are now loads of variations of colour and material so you can get exactly what you need to wear with every outfit.
